The Brotherhood of Muscle is alive and well thanks to the modern lineup of high-performance vehicles from the Dodge brand, but a new offering in the world of electric children’s ride-on vehicles allows kids to enjoy a childhood of muscle. These small cars are flawlessly modeled after the current Dodge Challenger SRT® Hellcat Widebody, with distinct details like the LED headlights, the exterior mirrors, the SRT sport bucket seat, the flat-bottomed steering wheel and the production-style wheels over Brembo-style brake calipers. It also has a Bluetooth®/FM radio, push button start, a seat belt and, for the younger kids, a remote control mode that allows an adult to do the driving.
This small scale Dodge Challenger is powered by a pair of 12-volt, 25-watt motors that allow for speeds to up 2.8 mph, but the top speed can be limited to either 0.7 or 1.4 mph while kids learn how to control the vehicle. The drive system also showcases “soft start” technology, which limits initial acceleration so that the kids don’t give themselves whiplash from doing hard digs. Four-wheel independent suspension coupled with the non-slip tires provide solid traction and cornering abilities on most hard surfaces such as asphalt, brick and wood, as well as flat grass surfaces, but like the full-sized SRT Hellcat cars – they aren’t likely to get great traction in dirt, sand or mud.
